I’m trying to write a book. Fiction.
I’ve never written full length fiction before, and it’s a big job, especially as I already have a day job. Its theme is women taking over the world and dealing with our multiple crises – political, military, environmental. Given the time it will take to get a novel finished, published and, hopefully, read, I thought it would be a good idea to elucidate some of the thinking behind the theme. I’ve called the idea EcoMatriarchy. That’s what this site is for, to propose a radical but non-violent restructuring of society which might enable us to find a path through some of our looming crises.
There are a few ideas which need to be listed and explained in order to do this; things like: patriarchy; capitalism; population; feminism and “equality”; climate change and other forms of pollution. They are all linked. I’m claiming that patriarchy is the soft underbelly of the system that is likely to cause our extinction. It’s the one we women can act against.
I’ll work my way through them as we go.
